Purpose of the role
The role of Business Development Manager is critical to the overall success of Defaqto. You will identify, develop and close sales opportunities for Defaqto with medium and large sized financial advice firms. Your focus will be on strategic sales for Defaqto’s software applications and consultancy services.
The role will be a combination of cultivating new relationships and growing existing client relationships to maximise revenue.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Making strategic deals with large UK Financial advice firms/networks.
- Generating new business opportunities for software via network and outreach.
- Working across different Defaqto brands
- Owning and delivering account strategies for key targets
- Presenting at industry events in order to promote Defaqto’s products and services and generate leads
- Build a solution based around understanding the client’s needs
- Conduct in-depth demonstrations of Defaqto software
- Implement adoption and growth strategies within accounts
What you will need to succeed:
• A proven track record in business-to-business sales to medium to large companies and ideally have a background in the UK financial services industry and of the opportunities, challenges and needs of financial advisers.
• Ability to build strong commercial relationships, an understanding of how to uncover opportunities/challenges and present the solution in a meaningful way
• Develop and maintain account development plans for each assigned client.
• The ability to determine and utilise appropriate sales strategies and tactics to ensure that activity levels are maintained

You will need a valid UK driving licence and be able to travel with overnight stays as and when required.
